Bereavement Subsidy

(Article 16 of Chapter 7 of Regulations of the Personnel Affairs)

  1. Upon a staff member’s death during his/her employment with the University, a bereavement subsidy shall be payable to the persons as designated in a declaration which is kept in the staff member’s personal file.
  2. If the abovementioned declaration does not exist, is lost or becomes ineffective, a bereavement subsidy shall be payable to the staff member’s family members according to the terms stipulated in Item 2 of Article 489 in the Civil Code.
  3. In addition to a funeral subsidy with the amount equivalent to 55% of the value of index 100 of the salary table, the bereavement subsidy also includes an amount which equals to six times of the staff’s monthly basic salary.
